Matt Rascon is an accomplished journalist and media professional with nearly 15 years of experience in broadcast news. He has covered everything from natural disasters to political scandals to business successes and failures.
Matt began his career in radio reporting in Rexburg, Idaho, before transitioning to TV in Utah, where he hosted a national cable show on BYUtv. His reports have earned him multiple Emmy’s and made him a trusted presence in TV markets across the country, including in San Diego, Boston and Salt Lake City, where he launched, produced and hosted the market’s first digital-only news show and podcast. In 2024 he covered the Paris Olympics for NBC News. Most recently, Matt was a lead reporter and 4 p.m. weekday anchor for the NBC station in Cleveland, Ohio.
Matt is the son of veteran journalist and former ABC13 anchor Art Rascon and the brother of current KHOU anchor Jacob Rascon. Today Matt works as a Senior Counselor for Spoken Word Communications, training business leaders in effective communication. He is also the president of Rascon Media Group, a media relations and communications company based in Houston.
Matt and his wife, Marisa, live in Houston with their five daughters.
